Unfortunately, due to the location of the cemetery and its misguided reputation, it is a popular place for the disrespectful and ignorant to gather and cause trouble and harm to what is otherwise a beautiful place.

There are numerous ghost stories and tall tales about this cemetery and the entire Red Ash area. Everything from ghost hand prints on vehicles to a giant goatman (yes, half man, half goat with an emblazoned pentagram on its head) looking to sacrifice innocent children along with the supposed vampires buried within the cemetery. Then there's reports of Satanic worship and sacrifice, the murder of a young lady years ago... the list goes on and on.

The stories and the middle-of-nowhere vibe is enough to give a person the hibbie jibbies. But I certainly didn't see or hear anything remotely haunted. I'd be much more concerned with the local drunks and hellraisers than any ghost anyway.

Where is it?

 The cemetery is located off Old Tennessee 63 in Caryville, TN. From the Caryville exit 134 off I-75, it is about 7 miles to the cemetery.
